Track cranes: The most commonly used lifting equipment for internal transport

Track cranes are an essential element of many production and storage processes. These are devices for lifting, moving and lowering heavy loads in a controlled way. Comprehensive use of cranes contributes to improving efficiency and safety in industry.

Track crane – most important information

The structure of the crane consists of a supporting part – that is, a bridge that moves on the tracks and a lifting unit on the trolley on the bridge.

The track, or part of a fixed crane, is usually mounted on a steel support structure (A) or building structure (B). If necessary, the crane can also be lifted to the ceiling (C).

The PS Lift overhead cranes stand out with several important aspects:
Construction and materials

The cranes are made of high quality materials, which provides them with durability and resistance to extreme working conditions. The crane load-bearing structure is robust and stable, which is crucial for safe transport of heavy loads. The cranes are bolted to the bridge beam, which, thanks to their equipment, enable the crane bridge to move on the track. There may even be several bridges on one track.

Lift and range

PS Lift overhead cranes are available in different load and range variants, allowing you to adapt them to a specific industrial application. They can handle loads weighing 100 kg or several tons, making them the ideal solution both in small production plants and in large warehouses.

The work area of the crane can be really large. The levers support a space close to the rectangle, and the range of movements is limited by the length of the track and the span of the bridge. If there is a need for a crane, you can cover almost the entire area of the hall and even hang several bridges on the track. Therefore, we can also suspend several hoists or lifts, thus allowing simultaneous operation of many workstations.

  • Projects with lifting capacity up to 6,3 tonnes
  • Bridge span up to 17 metres
  • The possibility of buying the bridge itself, the bridge with a torovist or a torovist bridge and a steel supporting structure
Control

PS Lift overhead cranes are equipped with advanced control systems that allow precise and safe handling of loads. Operators can control the cranes by means of a control panel or remote control.

The crane may have a manual or electric bridge ride. The appropriate power supply is selected individually for each project. The same applies to the carriage that moves on the beam. In this case, there are also two options: the electric and hand drive version.

What kind of lifting unit will be used depends, of course, on the type of cargo with which the operator will work.

Electrical and manual chain hoists, as well as vacuum suspensions or vacuum lifters are the most commonly suspended for mobile trucks.

Trays and slings for unusual loads may also be suspended under the chain hoist hook. These may be magnetic grippers, self-leveling forks, chain slings, belt slings or balancers.

UDT, the Technical Supervision Office

All cranes shall be supervised by the Technical Supervision Authority. However, we do not all have to report to the Office. It is not mandatory to report cranes with a load capacity of up to 250 kg, whether equipped with a manual or electric hoist. In each case, the service department will help complete all formalities.

Universality

The overhead crane will be ideal in the industrial industry, where heavy loads should be raised, in production halls or in warehouses, as well as in handling and logistics and automotive industries. Suffers are also often used in the furniture and food industry, where multiple positions are required.
