To select a suitable model of the logistics tractor, you should first consider whether you need a machine to move the workers themselves, or if you need a worker with a trailer or a load loaded on the platform. Of course, it should also be taken into account: the floor on which we will use the tractor; the work frequency we will perform and the maximum weight of our goods.

Logistics tractors are ergonomic and productive equipment. Thanks to their use, workers move safely and quickly in workplaces such as warehouse and production halls, hangars, extensive backrooms, forwarding points, manoeuvring spaces, departure and arrival halls, etc. It should be stressed that the operator can move alone or with the cargo required to transport.

Logistics tractor – alternative to forklift trucks

This type of solution is the best alternative to forklifts. Why?

After all, the purchase of a truck itself involves a very high cost, which can already seriously undermine the company’s budget. Additionally, forklifts are much more expensive to maintain – in the case of combustion versions they are also non-organic, and electric models have very expensive batteries that need to be loaded for a long time. It should also be noted that the operator of the so-called ‘vidlak’ must be authorised to operate this vehicle and the trolley itself is covered by full technical supervision. Fortunately, such a purchase is not always our only resort – it is logistics tractors that are increasingly replacing all known forklifts. Logistics/storage tractors do not take up so much space, are much cheaper to buy and maintain. They do not require frequent services and maintenance, the operator does not need special permission to work with the device, and battery charging takes several hours. Using forklifts to move without loads is completely unfounded. If a worker often moves from one end of the hall to the other, (and we know very well how huge these spaces can be) the logistics tractor, e.g. the type of scooter, will be a jackpot.

It is necessary to know about logistics tractors

Depending on your needs, three options for driving the tractor are possible. A version for a standing operator that directs the device from the machine level by means of mannets. Variant for the seated operator who drives the machine with the vehicle’s standard steering wheel and the tractor type of towing tractor — in this case, the operator goes before or behind the device and pulls the load with its use.

Logistics tractors may also differ significantly in the issue of lifting capacity, which can range from 100 to 6 000 kg. It is no different in the case of speed (up to 13 km/h).

Although most models differ greatly from each other, they have several characteristics in common.

Each machine has a built-in so-called operator sensor to detect the driver. For all types, the dashboard is equipped with a desktop display with battery charging indicator, front speed button – rear, electric horn, warning buzzer when reversing and lights switch. The charger and battery are equipped with standard equipment. The front and rear wheels are flexible, leave no traces on the floor and are impervious to penetration. The used safety brake and automatic stop brake (activated by releasing the operator sensor) further increases the safety of use of logistics tractors.
